Our pastorsPastor Matthias Theis (Gemeindeleiter ad interm): On 15.09.1968, I was born as the oldest son of a German father and a Swiss mother. During the first five years I grew up in Gladenbach and after in Krumbach, Germany. During these childhood years I invited Jesus as my personal Lord and Saviour. After my apprenticeship as an electrician, I worked for a year in the electrical laboratory. At the same time I took a leadership position working for the Royal Rangers in the Pfimi Schaffhausen and made my first experience as a leader in a ministry. Then I began my theological studies at Continental Theological Seminary in Brussels. In 1992 I completed an internship during the semester break in CZB. I then graduated the Bible School in Brussels in 1993 with a BA and 2002 with a M.A. The years since 1993 in CZB were a pivotal time for me, which prepared me for the task of church leadership. For this time I am eternally grateful as I was able to learn a lot from the staff, from the youth leadership, from my family and many friends and especially from my predecessor pastor Werner Kniesel. In CZB I also got to know Eva Wyss and in 1997, we got married. We have two wonderful daughters Tamina and Anna. |
Pastor Christian Ruppen: Christian Ruppen grew up in Hausen near Brugg where he also spent his school years. After an aprenticeship as a carpenter he got to know Jesus Christ as his personal saviour through a friend at work. He joined the yougthgroup of the Bethel Community Center and has ever since been an active member of the church. A few years later he married Marietta Ruppen-Fuchs. They have three sons, of which he is very proud. After a successful professional career as carpenter, teamleader of moving teams and leader of an office planning department, he got an education as a pastor and since the year 2000 he is on staff full time as a pastor in the Bethel Community Church. He loves to spend his recreational time with is wife Marietta by skiing, hiking, biking or by reading in a comfortabel chair at the shores of Lake Hallwil. He also loves to spend time with his two granddaughters. He enjoys a good homecooked meal, especially Braten and mashed potatoes. |
Intern Pastor Michael Ruppen:
 Michael was born in 1975 in Baden Ruppen. As a teenager, he chose a life with Jesus and was baptized at age fifteen. After his graduation from Kantonsschule in 1995, he graduated from the University of Zurich in the subjects of general history and English language and literature. For both subjects, he also acquired a higher teaching degree. 1998 Michael studied Music Performance at the Berklee College of Music in Boston (USA) and worked in the Worship Ministry of a local Foursquare Gospel Church. There he met his future wife, Lisa, and two years later they married and moved to Switzerland. Meanwhile, they have three young children Sophia (5 years), Eva (3 years) and Ezra (1 year). In addition to his teaching at various Kantonsschulen, Michael worked in different IT companies and currently still works part time as a multimedia developer and project manager at the University of Zurich. For many years he headed the church's music department and then together with Lisa built up the youth ministry and and the Saturday evening services. Currently he is in the pastoral training program of the SPM. |
